Dr. Samir Kumta has been associated with Lilavati Hospital since 1998. He is a Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon with a special interest in Reconstructive Microsurgery.  

He has over 31 years of experience post-MCh and has performed over 5,000 plastic surgeries and more than 2,500 microsurgical procedures.

Dr. Kumta has extensive specialized experience in microsurgery for all areas of the body and in various surgical fields. His expertise includes emergency finger and limb replantations, free tissue transfers for complex head and neck reconstruction following tumor surgery and limb reconstruction, and other complex microvascular surgical procedures. He has significant experience in mandibular reconstruction using vascularized bone grafts, such as the fibula and iliac crest.  

Dr. Kumta has conducted numerous workshops and lectured extensively on microvascular surgery throughout India. He has also presented his work both nationally and internationally. He is a prominent faculty member for the Microsurgery courses conducted by Ethicon at the Ethicon Institute of Surgical Education in Mumbai.  

He is a Past President of the Indian Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery. He served as the Scientific Chairman for the prestigious 8th Biennial Congress of the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery held in Mumbai.
