Profile

Dr. Sumeet Pawar completed his MBBS at G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital in 2008, followed by a board-certified neurosurgery program at Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, earning a Diplomate of National Board in Neurosurgery.
With over 2,300 surgeries performed, Dr. Pawar specializes in advanced spine surgeries, including anterior cervical surgery, lumbar decompression, dynamic stabilization, PLIF, TLIF, and kyphoplasty. He has undergone extensive training in minimal access surgery at Southern Tohuku University in Japan and Lohas Spine Hospital in Taiwan.
Dr. Pawar is a pioneer in endoscopic and minimally invasive spine surgeries, using advanced systems such as the Destandau Endospine, tubular systems, and Percutaneous Stenoscopic System (PSLD). His expertise includes awake spine procedures, allowing patients to undergo surgeries under local anesthesia with same-day discharge.
He holds the world’s largest series and India’s first series in endoscopic detethering surgery. Additionally, he has made significant contributions to research and innovations in spinal surgery, serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Spinal Surgery.
