Dr.Shah is the pioneer of Andrology in India. He is In practice since 32 years, has been with Lilavati since over 20 years.

He is the first urologist from India to train abroad in Male Reproductive Microsurgery and has the largest experience in microsurgical varicocelectomy, microsurgical reconstruction for obstructive azoospermia and vasectomy reversal, & micro TESE for sperm retrieval in non-obstructive azoospermia. He developed India’s first penile prosthesis which is named the Shah Penile Prosthesis and has vast experience in penile prosthesis implantation and surgery for Peyronie’s disease and penile curvature correction.

• He is recipient of numerous awards from the Urological Society of India including Best Paper, Best Video, Best Poster, Best Essay, and also multiple orations including the Urology President’s Gold Medal Oration.
• He was awarded the Best Video prize at the 6th World Meeting on Impotence at Singapore in 1994 for a new technique of penile revascularization.
• In 2008, he was awarded the prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy award by the President of India for developing Andrology in India

He has written 24 chapters in specialist textbooks and has published 35 papers in various journals. He is a very popular lecturer and has conducted numerous training workshops in India and abroad
