Dr. Pai has over 12 years of experience as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon. He is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Westmead Hospital, Sydney (a tertiary, teaching hospital) and holds a conjoint position as a Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Sydney. He previously managed the leg ulcer clinic at Westmead Hospital, providing essential care to patients with chronic limb ulcers.

He completed three years of vascular surgical training at major centers in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide). He has successfully performed over 500 vascular bypass operations for limb salvage, nearly 300 carotid artery cleaning procedures for stroke prevention, and hundreds of varicose vein treatments.

He received the Best Paper award at the Maharashtra Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India Conference in Pune, May 2001, for his presentation on "Subfascial Endoscopic Perforator Surgery – A Preliminary Indian Experience."
