Profile

Dr. Naren Nayak completed his MCh in Neurosurgery in December 2008 from the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Science and Technology (SCTIMST), Trivandrum, after securing first attempt passes in both M.S. in General Surgery in December 2004 and MBBS in January 2000 from Seth G. S. Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai University.

During his three-year neurosurgery residency at SCTIMST, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Suresh Nair, Dr. Nayak was involved in a variety of complex neurosurgical cases, including anterior and posterior circulation aneurysms, vascular bypass surgeries, skull base procedures, and neuroendoscopy. He also gained valuable experience in neurosurgical trauma management at NIMHANS, Bengaluru.

Dr. Nayak has been a dedicated educator, having served as an Assistant Professor in Neurosurgery at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Mumbai for 12 years, where he independently performed around 500 surgeries, including cases for gliomas, meningiomas, pituitary adenomas, and cerebellopontine angle tumors.

In 2019, Dr. Nayak further honed his expertise with a Fellowship in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at Tokyo Women's Medical University, Japan, under the guidance of Prof. Takaomi Taira.
