Dr. Namrata Kothari, M.D., FECMO, is a highly experienced Cardiac Anesthesiologist with 26 years of dedicated practice,specialised in the field of cardiac anesthesia. She has been associated with Lilavati Hospital since 2001, demonstrating expertise in a wide array of cardiac procedures.
Dr. Kothari received specialised training in heart transplant and completed a fellowship in ECMO in 2018, further enhancing her skills in critical care. Her proficiency extends to providing anesthesia for both adult and Peadiatric cardiac surgeries, encompassing on-pump and off-pump bypass surgeries, redo valve procedures, and vascular interventions such as aortic root replacement and aneurysm surgeries.
Within the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, Dr. Kothari plays a pivotal role in the Structural Heart Program. Her involvement spans crucial procedures, including Trans catheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Trans catheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR), MitraClip procedures for leaking valves, and various device closure procedures like ASD, VSD, PDA, and mitral para valvular leak closure.
Collaborating seamlessly with Dr. Ravinder Singh Rao and Anand Rao, Dr. Kothari has successfully managed high-risk cardiac procedures at Lilavati Hospital. Notable achievements include pioneering the first MitraClip procedure, introducing the first CEP device in the North and Western regions of India, and leading the first para valvular leak closure device procedure in Mumbai.
Dr. Kothari’s commitment to advancing cardiac care is evident in her contributions to Indian journals with publications in her areas of expertise. Her primary areas of interest encompass the Structural Heart Program, adult cardiac anesthesia with a focus on bypass, redo surgeries and aortic vascular procedures, as well as Peadiatric anesthesia.
