After finishing her MBBS, University of Pune and her MD in Internal Medicine from Bharti Vidyapeeth Medical College in 2002, Dr Parulekar worked as a Lecturer in Bharti Vidyapeeth Medical College and D Y Patil Medical College.
Dr Parulekar went on to pursue a Post Graduate Fellowship program in Infectious Diseases from Hinduja Hospital and was one of the first fellows of the program.
Due to her interests in Women’s Health she pursued a certification program and is a life member of the Indian Menopause Society and certified menopause practitioner.
She has rich experience in non-invasive Cardiology and is an active member of the Indian Association of Echocardiography.
She is a Post Graduate Teacher for DNB Medicine for over 10 years and is an examiner for DIPLOMATE OF NATIONAL BOARD, DELHI.
Dr Parulekar also has multiple publications to her credit.
Dr Parulekar headed the COVID TEAM during the pandemic and was instrumental in setting up the training, isolation and treatment protocols. Dr Parulekar spearheaded the Covid team and helped it become the largest nongovernmental COVID CARE hospitals in Mumbai.
She has been an Infection Control Officer (ICO) and a member of the Hospital Infection Control Committee. She helps hospitals develop their Infection Control Policies and Microbial Resistance strategies.
She was selected for an advanced National Training Workshop for Antimicrobial Stewardship, JIPMER, Pondicherry by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. February 2023.
