Dr. Ugra has been a valued member of the Lilavati Hospital team for the past 19 years, bringing with him 30 years of comprehensive experience. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and an MRCPCH Examiner.

His extensive leadership experience includes:

• Serving the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) in various capacities from 1993 to 2011, including as its President in 2010.
• Chairing, advising, and serving as National Coordinator for numerous IAP Committees, Task Forces, Teaching Courses, and Satellite CMEs.
• Serving as National Nodal Person for India, MRCPCH Examination, Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, London (2010 – 2015 and then 2016 - 2020).
• Serving as Secretary, RCPCH India Committee (2013 – 2018).
• Serving as Secretary, REACH (Research & Education in Child Health) (2015 - 2020).
• Organizing Chairman for 3 IAP (National and International) Conferences, Organizing Secretary for 4 IAP (National and International) Conferences, and Organizing Committee Member for 8 IAP (National and International) Conferences.
• Program Director, Pediatrics, 16th Asia Pacific Congress of Diseases of the Chest, Mumbai, 2001.
• Web Editor, IAP Website, 2008.
• Coordinator, IAP CMEG Pediatric Software National Task Force, 2006.
• Working in close association with the Ministry of Health, Govt. of India, UNICEF, WHO, USAID, NACO, and IndiaCLEN during his tenure as IAP Office Bearer from 1993 to 2011.

His academic and teaching experience encompasses:

• Currently teaching DNB students at Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre, Mumbai.
• Serving as an MRCPCH, India Examiner for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, London, since 2012, and attending MRCPCH Examination Board Meetings since 2010.
• Serving as a DNB Examiner for the National Board of Examinations, Delhi, since 2012, and serving the National Board of Examination to inspect Post Graduate Institutes.
• Serving as a Master Trainee for numerous IAP teaching modules between 1993 and 2011 and training PALS Instructors.
• Serving as a Faculty member of the national team for the PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Course as per AHA guidelines since 1996, and serving as National Convener for the same in 2005-2006, conducting PALS courses in over 75 locations across the country.
• Being invited as a Guest Speaker at over 200 International, National, State, and District Conferences on Pediatric Intensive Care, Pediatric Pulmonology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, Vaccinology, Pediatric HIV/AIDS, and Neonatology.
• Serving as Quiz Master for National and Zonal rounds of the IAP Quiz for Practicing Pediatricians at numerous conferences.
• Being invited as an Expert on various Child Health Issues on CNBC 18, Channel 7, Aaj Tak, Headlines Today, NDTV News, etc.
• Contributing articles on common Child Health Issues for newspapers such as the Times of India, Bombay Times, Hindustan Times, Indian Express, Loksatta, etc.
• Contributing to the concept, scientific material, and opening message for the TV serial “Parvarish,” a series of 13 episodes on topics related to Child Health telecasted in 2010 on Zee TV.
