Dr. Ajit Baviskar graduated in 2004 from Mumbai University, India. He served as Unit Head of Clinical Services and Professor of Emergency Medicine at DY Patil School of Medicine, DY Patil Medical College and Hospital, New Mumbai. He also held the position of Head of Emergency Medicine, Clinical Quality, and Consultant Critical Care at Global Hospital, Mumbai.
He successfully completed the Simulation Instructor Development: Comprehensive Course conducted by the Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Simulation Centre in collaboration with DY Patil University Medical Simulation Laboratory. He is also an instructor for simulation training in medical education.
Dr. Baviskar has over 14 years of experience in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia, and Critical Care in both India and the UK.
Since 2012, he has been a course faculty member of the International Council of Critical Emergency Sonography (ICCES), a leading international organization recognized for its innovative use of ultrasound in trauma care, emergency care, and disaster response.
He is trained in point-of-care ultrasound and has conducted several courses such as the AIIMS Ultrasound Trauma Life Support Course, Ultrasound in Primary Care, AIIMS Disaster Ultrasound, Basic Ultrasound Course for Surgeons, AIIMS Emergency Sonography Course, and Ultrasound Trauma Life Support Course for Nurses.
Dr. Baviskar has trained doctors and nurses in point-of-care ultrasound across the globe, including in Sri Lanka, Iran, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the USA.
He was invited as faculty to conduct a workshop at the WADEM Congress on Disaster and Emergency Medicine 2017 in Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Baviskar is also a contributor to academic papers and publications, many of which have been presented and published in international and national peer-reviewed journals and conferences such as JETS, IJCCM, and Anaesthesia & Analgesia, among others.
